Presently, our daily life and society are supported by Information Technology (IT) on a global scale. There will be no future without IT, and IT is making progress and expanding quite rapidly. Needless to say, getting skills necessary to use the technology is already mandatory for us.

The Information and Network Engineering Course in Kurume Institute of Technology has excellent equipment along with experienced faculty and provides education focused on exercises and practical studies in order to foster engineers with practical capabilities. In the world of IT, innovative services are being created from a complicated collaboration of hardware, software and contents. Accordingly, this course will provide the fundamentals of these fields.

From their sophomore year, students are divided into three courses: Visual Contents, Software, and Hardware. The "Visual Contents Course" fosters engineers of contents production such as computer image and vision. The "Software Course" fosters information engineers who play a pivotal role in the Internet society. Finally, the "Hardware Course" fosters manufacturing engineers who will support the future of Japan. With these special courses, we are aiming to foster engineers who can bolster a high-end information society in each field through detailed education.

Course Introduction

Learn technologies which express creative visual information

Visual Contents Course

Visual Contents Course

Students in Visual Contents Course learn about 2D-CG creation which is required for contents development, 3D-CG creation which is crucial for games and digital creation VR, and development of games and Webpages by combining these CG creations and programming practically from the basics.

Master IT expertise and skills

Software Course

Software Course

In recent years, the field of Web applications activated by browser and accessible to anyone has been growing along with applications are used by downloading to the terminal. We learn skills of programming, network construction, and security which are necessary for these fields

Master hardware expertise and skills

Hardware Course

Hardware Course

Students in the Hardware Course are engaged in system development centered in micro-computers. This is a field which is wide-range of applications; for example, a chair equipped a sensor that can identify the number of people sitting on it, or a terminal which can catch irregularities by sensing the posture or movement of the person who wears it.

IoT (Internet of Things) is to make things and humans have sensors and communication function. By concentrating various phenomena in a certain space such as a person walking or sitting, or a door open, or when its hot, you can assume what the person is going to do or whether there are any irregulars there. This laboratory is especially conducing research on sensor terminal for human and things. It is embedded device comprised with sensors, communication devices, and micro computer which control them. This research explores circuit construction of IoT embedded device, micro computer programs, and the usage of collected information.
