Department of Transport Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Automotive Mechanical Engineering provides a wide range of studies including fluid dynamics, design, energy engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, environmental technology and industrial design. This department offers students the chance to study the problems which must be solved to sustain our present way of life, such as the advancement of the performance of automobiles and the improvement of the transportation environment (traffic jams and air pollution). Well-balanced education with theory and practice of the department enables students to learn about various areas in science and technology. This is the only department in Japanese universities that the students are accredited to apply for the certificate of the Second Class Automotive Mechanic without taking skill examinations by the Ministry of Land Development and Transportation after four years’ of study, and a very high percentage of students pass the written examinations and obtain their certificates. The two courses are the Automotive Design and Development Course and the Automotive Engineering Course.
