Department of Education and Creation Engineering
In Japan, the issue of “avoidance of Math and Science” among junior and senior high school students is serious. This is the problem that we should take quick measures to overcome in order that our society will not get behind the daily advance of science, technology and IT. The Department of Education and Creation Engineering was established to foster math and science teachers so that they can contribute to remove the trend of “avoidance of Math and Science.” Each of the three courses, the Math Course, the Science Course and the Information Science Course, provides students the opportunitiy to acquire teaching credentials in Mathematics, Science and Information Science founded on the wide range of knowledge in engineering, which may promote future students’ abilities in creativity and application of their acquired knowledge. Students are able to acquire double teaching certificates in Mathematics and Science, Science and Information Science, or Mathematics and Information Science at the time of graduation.
